This movie is a remake of the 1972 Wes Craven thriller and it surely doesn't disappoint. I rented this on blue ray which includes 2 versions on the disc, the theatrical version and the unrated version. We watched the unrated version which is very graphic and a little more intense than then what was shown in the theatre. Although the theatrical version of this movie doesn't really hold back that much either. The film is about a teenage girl, who goes on vacation with here parents to a lake house in the middle of nowhere. While hanging out with a friend, she runs into the wrong people and is kidnapped, shot and left for dead. The people who did this to her wind up seeking shelter in the her parent's house (without knowing this of course). Once the parents find out what they did to their daughter, they will stop at nothing to get revenge. I won't tell you how they find out it's them, you'll have to see for yourself.
So like I said at the beginning of this post, this movie is very graphic - lots of blood and guts - and even a disturbing situation between one of the kidnappers and the teen girl. (You can probably guess where I'm going with that, but I won't get into too much detail).
If you like thrillers, then I highly recommend you see this movie, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Many of the chilling scenes really play into the "shock factor". It could be a little too much for some people, but nothing is really watered down in this movie and that's what makes it work.
